In high school sports, the Del Campo boys water polo team is on the road at Dixon at 4 p.m. Jesuit's soccer powerhouse looks to make it 8-0 on the season when they go on the road to Marin Academy of San Rafael at 4 p.m. The Marauders won their big showdown against Granite Bay 3-2 on Friday at Capital Christian High School in Rosemont. Rio Americano's boys soccer team hosts Yuba City at 4 p.m. The Raiders are going for their first win of the season as they have two losses and two ties in their first four games. Rio's girls volleyball team is on the road at Pioneer of Woodland at 6:15 p.m. The Raiders are 4-3 on the season after Thursday's 3-0 win at Roseville. Check back later for a story on the Rio girls.
2. Thursday was the start of the NFL regular season. Sunday was the first full day for teams. And today is Monday Night Football. Why not watch the game at a local watering hole? There's the and Clubhouse sports bars on Fair Oaks Boulevard. It's a rare doubleheader as Tom Brady and the New England Patriots travel to South Beach to face the Miami Dolphins, with new acquisition Reggie Bush at 4 p.m. And for you Oakland Raiders fans on here, they travel to Denver to face Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos at 7:15 p.m.
