Patch blogger bash and high school sports.

1. All around the Sacramento area, Patch's bloggers are doing great things–and it's time to say thank you. Patch is inviting its bloggers and potential bloggers to a mixer and tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. in the downstairs room at Shenanigans, 705 J Street in Sacramento. Attendees will mingle, eat, drink and hear blogging tips from local blogger and journalism professor Holly Heyser. Other Patch bloggers will attend, including Margaret Andrews (Carmichael), who has a book "," and was named , and Jane Gassner (Elk Grove), founder of MidLifeBloggers.

2. In high school sports, Del Campo's boys soccer team heads up Interstate 80 to Roseville to face Oakmont at 3:15 p.m. The Cougars' boys water polo team also plays at Oakmont at 4 p.m. The  looks to improve on its 4-3 record when it hosts Rio Linda at 6 p.m. The team (10-1) looks to rebound from its first loss of the season (4-3 Tuesday at Antelope) when it hosts at 4 p.m. The team is looking to bounce back from with Davis and heads east to St. Louis for the prestigious Gateway City Classic. The Marauders open today against Chaminade of St. Louis. Jesuit dropped from No. 1 to No. 3 in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America boys fall soccer rankings. The team looks to improve on its 1-4-2 record when it plays at Antelope at 6:30 p.m. The team plays Antelope at 3:30 p.m. The team hosts Whitney of Rocklin at 4 p.m. The team looks to improve on its 8-6 record when it plays at Cristo Rey at 6 p.m.
