Body Found In Santa Ana River Amid Heavy Rain: Police
Tuesday's stormy weather prevented authorities from conducting an immediate verification and recovery, according to Sgt. Gerard McCann.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — Authorities were working Tuesday night to recover a body from the Santa Ana River, according to law enforcement.
The body was reported around 11:30 a.m. in the riverbed at Interstate 405 in Fountain Valley, according to Orange County Sgt. Gerard McCann, who said Tuesday’s stormy weather prevented authorities from conducting an immediate verification and recovery.
“Because of the treacherous waters, they were unable to recover the body at the time,” he said.

Emergency personnel followed the body down the river to Adams Avenue in Huntington Beach, according to McCann, and as of shortly after 6 p.m., authorities were preparing to rappel down to the river and recover the remains.
