City Announces Changes to Sign Code
The newly streamlined permit process and fewer regulations are aimed at helping local businesses be seen more easily.

In an effort to help the business community in Fountain Valley to prosper, the Fountain Valley City Council has recently adopted changes to the city’s sign code.
Changes include a new administrative sign permit process to streamline the permitting process, a reduction in sign permit fees, and fewer overall sign restrictions. Under the new sign code:
- all commercial/industrial properties may now have a monument sign;
- allowable monument sign size has been increased;
- awning and canopy signs are now allowed; and,
- gas stations can now use LED band lighting and LED digital monument signs.
These changes to the sign code have been made in an effort to give local business more opportunities to promote themselves. For more details regarding the new changes, please refer to the Fountain Valley Municipal Code Chapter 21.24 or call Assistant Planner Matt Jenkins at (714) 593-4425.
