Jersey Mike's Coming to Fountain Valley

The sandwich chain will celebrate its grand opening by hosting a fundraiser for the city's parks and recreation division.

Jersey Mike's Subs will open its first location in Fountain Valley next week on Aug 10, and Jersey Mike's owner Alvaro Garcia will celebrate his new ties with the area with a grand opening fundrasier.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 18120 Brookhurst St., is hosting a 5-day fundraiser from Aug. 10 through  Aug. 14, with proceeds supporting The City of Fountain Valley Recreation and Community Services Division. Anyone who has a fundraising coupon can get a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution. Coupons are being distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers.

"As we were considering organizations to support during our grand opening, I learned about The City of Fountain Valley Recreation and Community Services Division," Garcia said. "The division works hard to enhance the quality of life in Fountain Valley through its many programs, activities and events. It was immediately evident that a partnership that promoted playing hard, team work and an athletic lifestyle would be a healthy match for the community. We decided then to support the organization and their mission."
