Los Amigos Dominates Both Sides of Ball in 41-0 Thrashing of Santiago
The Lobos moved to 3-0 in league play and 7-1 overall.
Los Amigos senior quarterback Danny Hernandez passed for two touchdowns, ran for another, and pitched in with an interception on defense as the Lobos beat Santiago in a 41-0 blowout Friday night.
Junior running back Jerry Saldivar led the Lobos in rushing with 49 yards, and opened the scoring for Los Amigos with a first-quarter touchdown from five yards out. Senior Felix Cruz hauled in the first of his two touchdowns later in the quarter to stake the Lobos to a 14-0 lead after one quarter.
After a mostly quiet second quarter, Los Amigos broke the game open with two touchdowns in the final two minutes of the half. The first came on Hernandez's 13-yard run, and the second on a 40-yard punt return by Anthony Magana. A missed extra point on the second TD meant a 27-0 lead at the half for Los Amigos.

Santiago attempted an onside kick to open the second half, but Los Amigos recovered easily and marched down the field on the ensuring possession, capping the drive on Cruz's second score of the night, a 20-yard pass from Hernandez with just over nine minutes to go in the quarter. Leonard Zambrano added a bruising touchdown run from 25 yard out to round out the scoring midway through the fourth quarter.
The Lobos moved to 3-0 in Garden Grove League play and 7-1 overall. Los Amigos will take on La Quinta in another league matchup Nov. 4 at Garden Grove High.
