With gas prices rising throughout the city, consider cutting your transportation expenses by knowing areas you're likely to get caught speeding.
The Department of Motor Vehicle says that the majority of traffic violations in California require paying a fine up to $370 or more (not to mention the likelihood of your auto insurance bill skyrocketing), we're giving you a heads up on some areas where officers are known to post up with their radar guns, waiting for you to zoom by.

Below is a list of Fountain Valley's "speed traps," so dubbed by The National Speed Trap Exchange:
- Eastbound Warner Avenue between Brookhurst and Ward: Officer sits in shopping center parking lot on the right side. Difficult to see due to mix of cars in the lots.
- Brookhurst Street between Edinger Avenue and Warner Avenue: Two officer, one facing north and the other south. One by tennis courts and one behind bus stop at Heil shopping center.
- Harbor Boulevard: Law enforcement monitors northbound Harbor Boulevard going over the Santa Ana river. The officer sits in the driveway of the plaza just north of it and waits for cars to speed around the corner.
