Citrus College Promotes More Student Transfers to CSU Schools

In a push to increase transfer rates to four-year universities, Citrus College targeted a goal of creating 13 transfer degrees to California State Universities, and recently the community college surpassed its goal by creating a 14th degree.

The goal to increase transfer degrees came after the Student Transfer Achievement Reform Act, which allowed students who complete an associate degree designated for transfer guaranteed admission to the CSU system, was signed into law in 2010, according to a Citrus College statement.

In 2013, 258 Citrus College students earned associate degrees for transfer, up from 42 students the previous year.

Citrus College offers associate degrees for transfer in 14 programs of study:  administration of justice, business administration, communication studies, early childhood education, elementary education, English, history, kinesiology, mathematics, physics, political science, psychology, sociology, and theater arts.
