Condominiums Proposed at Gladstone, Bonnie Cove
The Planing Commission will consider zone changes, which would allow for the 23-unit development at Gladstone and Bonnie Cove avenues.

The plot of land on the corner of East Gladstone and Bonnie Cove Avenues has been for years vacant, the subject of contention between council members and nearby residents in the fallout of a previously planned project. But the Planning Commission will consider a proposed plan to build 23 detached condominium units on the 2.6 acre-lot at its next meeting Tuesday, March 19.
In 2007, the Glendora City Council approved an expansion of a nearby convalescent rehabilitation center. The project drew overwhelming opposition from surrounding residents who opposed the height of the large-scale building and complained the building would be an eyesore in the residential neighborhood.
But the newly proposed development, which would be built on the northwest corner of Gladstone Street and Bonnie Cove Avenue, promises 1,300 to 1,500 sq.-ft, two-story homes geared toward young, new families. In 2011, when the Olson group first proposed the project, homes were estimated to sell for in the upper $300,000 range to lower $400,000 range.

The Planning Commission will consider the zone change and General Plan amendment for four parcels of the newly proposed development.
Two parcels are changing zoning changes from medical services to multiple-family residential. The other two parcels are changing from R-1 Single-Family andΒ E-6 Estate to multiple-family residential.
