Glendora Girl Gathers 1,000 Books For Library in Ghana
Brooklin Carri, 9, is sharing her love of reading to children thousands of miles away in Africa.

Brooklin Carri, 9, of Glendora says she loves to read and wants to open her own bookstore one day.
But the young girl is getting started by helping to establish a library thousands of miles away in a village in Ghana.
Carri, with the help of some family, friends, and generous donors, gathered 1,000 childrenβs books to send to the African Library Project.

The organization will use the books to start a library in a village in Ghana, where resources and funds for literacy programs are limited.
In three months, Carri gathered the 1,000 books by posting fliers, approaching her motherβs Mommy and Me group and her Girls Scouts troupe.

βDoing this made me feel great,β said Carri. βBecause I love reading, and I get to share it with people in another country.β
