Glendora Resident Honored as Citizen of the Year

For three decades, Glendora resident Thom B. Hill has kept busy serving on a number of community service projects.

That dedication to the community will be recognized when the Chamber of Commerce honors Hill as the 2012 Citizen of the Year.

Each year, the Chamber selects a member of the community who has made exceptional contributions to residents and organizations.

The many services Hill has been a part of and his accomplishments that have earned him the 2012 distinction include:

• Serving for 17 years as an administrator as the Dean of Administrative & Cultural Services and as an adjunct teacher in speech and theatre at Citrus College.
• Serving as president of the Rotary Club of Glendora where he has been a member since 1983.
• A recipient of the Gene Beckwith Humanitarian Award in June 2010.
• A member of the Board of Directors for Eye-Das.
• The current chair of the Glendora Rotary Club’s Mini-Grants for Teachers Program
• Past president of the Glendora Library Friends Foundation
• Served on committees for Glendora Library’s “Battle of the Books,” the library’s Great Trivia Challenge, and as a member of Foothill Presbyterian Hospital’s Philo Anthropos Circle.
