GLENDORA, CA — Christmas has long been over now that it's the new year, but some Glendora residents might still be hanging onto their tree — wondering how to get rid of it.

The city will take that guesswork out of your hands and, from now until Friday, will dispose of the tree for free.

Residents can have their trees collected for recycling by placing them on the curb during their regular trash day. Christmas trees must be free of any tinsel, ornaments, lights and stands, city officials said.

Fake trees and those covered in fire retardants are not recyclable. Residents must schedule a bulky pick-up appointment through Athens Services for those types of trees, city officials said.

For more information about the tree pick-up, residents can contact the city at 626-914-8200 or visit the Athens Services website.
