The average price has risen 11.1 cents over the past 12 days, including 1.6 cents on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 8.6 cents more than one week ago, unchanged from one month ago and 23 cents less than one year ago.

The Orange County average price recorded its largest daily increase since June 22 today, rising 1.9 cents to $3.922.
The Orange County average price has risen 12 times in the past 13 days and is 8.5 cents more than one week ago and one-tenth of a cent higher than one month ago. However, it is 23.4 cents less than one year ago, mainly thanks to a 37-day streak of decreases that ended Aug. 27.

The rising pump prices are caused by increasing oil prices stemming from continued Middle East tension, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
