San Dimas-Based Quiches Recalled For Undeclared Soy Allergen

A statewide recall has been issued on products made by the San Dimas-based Glendora Quiche Company due to an undeclared soy allergen that could cause life-a threatening reaction for consumers with soy allergies, the California Department of Public Health warned Wednesday.

The department warns that anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy can develop a life-threatening allergic reaction that requires immediate medical attention.

The five-inch “America’s Finest Gourmet Quiche Lorraine,” “America’s Finest Gourmet Quiche Broccoli,” “America’s Finest Gourmet Quiche Spinach,” and “America’s Finest Gourmet Quiche Green Chile,” with a manufactured date prior to Sept. 2, 2013, are all listed on the recall.

Its parent company, AYOA, Inc. of Los Angeles, issued a voluntary recall of the products, which are sold at Gelson’s Markets across the state. No illnesses have been reported due to the labeling omission, according to the department.
