Trial of Covina Teacher Accused of Molestation Moved to Dec. 10
John Boyle, 49, of Glendora, remains in custody pending trial on molestation and distribution of child pornography charges.

The trial of John Boyle, the Covina teacher accused of distributing child pornography, has been moved to begin Dec. 10.
The tentatively scheduled trial date for Boyle, 49, of Glendora, was Aug. 27. On Aug. 22, the court ordered the trial to begin Dec. 10, with the pre-trial status conference and motion hearing scheduled for Monday, Nov. 18, according to Gymeka Williams of the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Boyle remains in custody pending trial.

“The United States Attorney’s Office and federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations continue to investigate this matter, as they prepare for trial,” said Williams.
Boyle was arrested in June by agents with Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations on suspicion of distributing child pornography on the Internet.

The eighth-grade teacher at Royal Oak Middle School allegedly met an undercover agent in his classroom so they could look at child pornography.
The investigation of Boyle also suggested Boyle may have molested children, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
If convicted, Boyle faces a sentence of life imprisonment.
