Allied Waste Services Donates $25K for Typhoon Haiyan Relief
Funds were given to the Daly City Filipino Resource Center which will work with aid organizations and government in the Philippines.

Allied Waste Services, a Republic Services Company, and its affiliated partners, are donating $25,000 to help the survivors of Typhoon Haiyan which devastated the Philippine Islands earlier this month.
Allied provides waste collection services in Half Moon Bay, Daly City as well as many other cities in the Bay Area.
The funds, donated by Allied Waste, Guinn Construction, and the Law Offices of Thomas M. Bruen, have been transmitted to the Pilipino Bayanihan Resource Center in Daly City which will work with aid organizations and government in the Philippines to make sure the donation is used for the greatest public good.
“We thank Allied and its partners for stepping up and making this much-needed donation,” said Center Vice President Perla Ibarrientos. “This is an unimaginable crisis for our friends and family in the Philippines. The Filipino community in Daly City has been working, watching and praying and we are so glad to have Allied on our side.”
Funds provided by Allied are expected to be used to secure clean water, food and shelter for storm victims. Additionally, Allied employees helped deliver today approximately 5,000 pounds of goods collected for typhoon relief in Daly City to Hayward, where the material will be loaded onto a ship and sent to the Philippines.
“Daly City is a close-knit community and this tragedy has been a shock for our friends, employees and customers,” said Evan Boyd, Division Manager for Allied Waste Services. “We are proud to do our part to help and we hope this donation gives comfort and assistance to the people who need it the most.”
