Half Moon Bay Attorney Makes Low Cost, High Quality Legal Services His Business

The first in an occasional series profiling local business owners.

Patch loves supporting local businesses so we're launching an occasional series profiling homegrown entrepreneurs. To submit your business, fill out this online form.

Business name: Law Office of Paul W. Reidl, 241 Eagle Trace Drive, Half Moon Bay
When and how did your business get started? Feb. 1, 2009. I spent 10 years with a large law firm in Washington, D.C., and 18 years with E. & J. Gallo Winery, and decided that the recession was a great opportunity to go out on my own and offer lower-cost, high quality legal services.
What is your business known for? I am a trademark and copyright specialist who does everything from clearance and filing to litigation.
Why did you choose the town you did to open your business? Because I have a global law practice, I could live anywhere in Northern California that was reasonably close to SFO and the Federal Courts, so why wouldn't I want to live on the Coastside!
What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know? I am the former President of the International Trademark Association, the global association of trademark owners and professionals. Earlier this year I was named one of the top trademark lawyers in California and the world.

Does your business offer a special deals card or program? My initial consultation is always free and I do not require a retainer. If clients trust me with their brands and works I will trust them to pay me. With a few exceptions, that has served me well.
