Half Moon Bay Woman Accused Of Stabbing, Robbery
Investigators allege the woman stabbed a man who was trying to recover items that were stolen from his girlfriend at a Safeway store.
HALF MOON BAY, CA — A Half Moon Bay woman was arrested Monday after deputies allege she stabbed a man who attempted to recover items she stole during a robbery at a Safeway store off North Cabrillo Highway.
In a news release Tuesday, the sheriff's office said deputies were called to the store a few minutes after noon on reports of a stabbing and robbery. Investigators learned the victim was stabbed twice while trying to reclaim items the suspect stole from his girlfriend, according to officials.
Medics treated the man at the scene and took him to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Investigators learned the suspect left with the stolen items and boarded a SamTrans bus, and deputies located her a short time later. Officials said the woman was detained while still in possession of the knife and stolen items.
The sheriff's office identified the suspect Tuesday as Amairani Cortescontreras, 30, of Half Moon Bay. She was booked into the county jail on suspicion of felony robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
