Ave. 50 Studio will Pour Pinot to Celebrate Pair of June Openings
The exhibits on display include "By and For: Democracy and Art" and "Visions of Highland Park."

's two latest exhibitions won't open until Saturday , but art lovers can catch a sneak preview of both while enjoying a selection of pinot noirs on Thursday evening.
The studio will host a wine mixer on Thursday evening from 5 until 7 p.m., where attendees can sample both the art and some wine.
June's exhibitions include By and For: Democracy and Art and Visions of Highland Park.

According to a press release provided by Ave. 50 Studio, Democracy and Art was curated by activist and art historian Carol A. Wells, who also serves as the founder and executive director of the Center for Study of Political Graphics.
"Chosen artists address the shifting meanings of freedom and equality, censorship and civil liberties," according to the press release.

Visions of Highland Park will show in Ave. 50 Studio's Annex, and will feature portrayals of the neighborhood by Judith Amdur, Patricia Anderson, Carol Colin, Raoul De la Sota, Kevin Hass, Cidne Hart, Ramon Ramirez, Robert Lowden, Stuart Rapeport, Jose L. De Juan, Kikki Eder, Adriana Rincon, Simone Gad, Kathy Fischer, Angela Ortiz
Among the wines available on Thursday night are a 2009 Caretaker Pinot Noir, 2009 Castle Rock Mendocino County Pinot Noir and a 2009 Sebastpol Hills Pinot Noir.
The opening night reception for both exhibits is scheduled to take place at Ave. 50 Studio on Saturday, June 11 from 7 until 10 p.m. Ave. 50 Studio is located at 131 N. Ave. 50.
