Best Pizza in Town: And the Winner Is ...
Highland Park-Mount Washington Patch readers had a hard time choosing their favorite pizzeria.
It's a tie.
With a total of 155 tallies counted, and were knotted at the top with 67 votes apiece.
So, does this mean that Highland Park's pizzerias are so excellent that it's impossible to choose a clear winner? Or was this a case of the vote being split among a pair of solid, but not quite spectacular candidates?

Maximiliano and Folliero's both clearly have their devoted fans.
"I visited Maximiliano for their brunch last week and they had this epic breakfast pizza with egg, bacon, potatoes, and sausage that was freaking amazing," said user Jimmy Bean Jones. "They got my vote."

Reader Paola Martinez said, "I remember Folliero's from when they were located on Monte Vista Street and they are just as delicious and friendly as they were back then. Folliero's has been a family favorite for decades and always will be!"
However, it appears that many Patch readers aren't convinced that the neighborhood is home to a truly great pizzeria, yet.
"If we are only talkin' slices, there is NO great pizza in [Highland Park]," said user ChickenBoyFan. "All of them are sorely lacking. Bad, doughy, undercooked crusts, and lackluster sauces all around. Sorry HLP. Get your dough together!"
CBF wasn't alone in her pizza pessimism.
"We need improved pizza in [Highland Park]," said user XOXO. "Even fresh n' easy bake at home pizza is better:(."
The main knock on Maximiliano seems to be that they're simply too new to the area to earn the distinction of best Pizza in town.
As for Folliero's, it appears that some of our readers were disappointed in their dining experience after reading overwhelmingly positive reviews. It's hard to cook pizza with a target on your back, we're sure.
As the final arbiter of the contest, we've decided to dub Folliero's and Maximiliano co-champions of our contest.
