Follow Patch for Lummis Day Festival Updates Throughout the Day

Update 1:12 p.m.: Dub8 took the stage about 10 minutes ago. The crowds around the stage are modest, right now, but people are definitley dancing and enjoying the music.

After months of dedicated preparation, which included numerous fundraisers and organizational meetings, the Lummis Day Community Foundation and the Lummis Day Organizing Committee will present the sixth annual Lummis Day Festival of Northeast Los Angeles.

Lummis Day is both a celebration of the festival's namesake, Charles Fletcher Lummis, as well the cultural legacy he left behind.

Today's festivities promise a "great gumbo" of music, poetry, food and art, much of which will bear a stamp distinct to Northeast Los Angeles. Patch will be there to take photos and videos throughout the day-long festival.
