Garden Grows at PACE Head Start
The pre-school used the grant to start a garden bed for strawberries, peas and onions.
KTLA visited on Tuesday to feature a group of students who were able to learn some valuable lessons about nutrition thanks to a $1,000 grant from the Western Growers Foundation.
According to the Western Growers Association--a trade association of California and Arizona farmers--PACE Head Start was one of 100 schools to win a $1,000 grant to launch their school gardens.
PACE Early Childhood Education Center is a Head Start program offering fulltime daycare services for children ages 3 years to 5 years in preparation for kindergarten. Registration is ongoing and services are free to those families who qualify.
