Red at Night Makes for Highland Park's Delight

Share your photos of Sunday evening's Sailor's Sky over Highland Park.

Our sea-faring readers are likely familiar with this axiom: "Red at night, sailors' delight. Red at morning, sailors' warning."

It's a handy rule of thumb for sailors at mid-latitude locations to keep in mind. A red sky at night means a setting sun is reflecting off clouds in the east. Red in the morning means the sun is reflecting westerly clouds.

Of course, all this nautical jargon pales in comparison to the beauty presented by a sky full of red clouds and rainbows.
