Uber Passenger In Custody After Standoff With Police: Authorities
The barricade situation lasted several hours Wednesday morning, police said.
LOS ANGELES — An armed man barricaded inside a ride-hail vehicle in Mount Washington was taken into custody late Wednesday morning, police said.
Officers responded shortly after 7:30 a.m. to the 4500 block of Marmion Way, according to police, and the man was in custody as of just before 11 a.m. No injuries were reported, police said.
The driver was able to leave the vehicle, according to police. KTLA reported the vehicle was an Uber. The law enforcement response included a SWAT team, police said.

“We want to thank law enforcement for the exceptional work today and are thankful nobody was injured," Uber said in a prepared statement. "If needed, we are standing ready to assist law enforcement."
Due to the incident’s proximity to the Metro A (Blue) Line Southwest Museum Station in the Mount Washington area, no trains were running as of mid-Wednesday morning between the Highland Park and Heritage Square stations.

Metro provided buses to shuttle passengers between the stations, but train service resumed around 11 a.m., with some residual delays, according to the transit agency.
