York's New Burger Spot Boasts 'Deep Flavor'
The restaurant opened on Thursday, April 19.
York Boulevard's new kid on the block fits the billing in more ways than one.
Only 22, Manuel Munoz Jr. may be relatively new to the burger business, but he's confident his flavors will make him a mainstay on at 5933 York Boulevard for a long time.
Located at the former location of Tacos El Michuacano on York Boulevard, Munoz said that Fusion Burger will offer a variety of flavors not typically found on menus in Highland Park.

The Royal Truffle, for example, is prepared with port truffle glaze, truffle cheese and garlic aioli. The Triple Pork is an ambitious marriage of meats including ground pork, Spanish Chorizo and an apple wood smoked bacon patty.
Munoz also proudly boasts an affinity for bacon lardons and al pastor meat, which find their way into several of Fusion's burgers.

Fusion Burger also offers Ahi Tuna and Veggie Burgers, for those who seeking lighter fare.
Munoz, a Highland Park resident who lives two blocks away from the restaurant, said he spent the last two years cooking in restaurants like Umami Burger in Santa Monica.
While lacking in experience, he does have his father Miguel Sr., backing him up.
"He's the primary investor," Miguel said.
Munoz also has desire. Why did he decide to make a go at opening his own restaurant? Because there wasn't anything else like it in this neighborhood.
"There are no other burger restaurants like this in Highland Park," Munoz said. "I figured I should bring it here myself."
Business has been slow since Fusion Burgers grand opening last Thursday, but the feedback has been positive.
"People are loving the deep flavor," Munoz said.
