HOLLYWOOD, CA — A large empty lot on Virgil Avenue is set to be the site of 10 single-family homes, according to a development application recently submitted to the city.

The development, located between Lexington and Fountain avenues at 1221 N. Virgil Ave., is a "small lot subdivision," which city officials say is a kind of hybrid between single- and multi-family developments.

Planned are 10 freestanding single-family homes with a shared driveway, walkways and common outdoor space. The homes — which will range from two to four stories — will stand about six feet apart and include ground-floor garages. Some will include rooftop decks, according to plans submitted to the city by applicant Itshak Franco.

The land was previously the site of two duplexes before they were demolished. The two parcels were sold for over $4 million in 2023, according to Urbanize LA.

More information on the project is available at the City Planning website.
