Fire Damages Vacant Building in Hollywood

Flames shot through the roof of the empty one-story building, but no injuries were reported.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — No injuries were reported in a building fire that damaged an empty one-story structure in Hollywood. The fire was reported at 537 N Western Ave. around 10:16 after smoke was showing from the building.

Flames shot up through the roof, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department. It took 56 firefighters to extinguish the blaze in about 26 minutes.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, and no other details were immediately available.
