Firefighters Extinguish Fire At Hollywood Commercial Garage

A fire that broke out at a commercial garage Monday night threatened a nearby apartment building and home.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — It took 54 firefighters less than a half hour to extinguish a fire at a commercial building in Hollywood Monday night, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to 5941 W. Gregory Ave., northeast of Vine Street and Melrose Avenue, at around 11:20 p.m.

They initiated an "offensive attack" on a fire burning in a one-story detached garage at the rear of a commercial property. The fire was threatening an adjacent one-story home and three-story apartment building, but firefighters confined the flames to the garage, the LAFD said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
