The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power wants to invite all local residents to join its staff members in a walk on Saturday at the Lake Hollywood Reservoir.
The walking path around Lake Hollywood was reopened in April. As a result, now makes it an ideal time for the walk, according to Joseph Ramallo, spokesman for the LADWP.

“Our general manager was interested in getting out more and sharing with the community and customers more about our reservoirs,” said Joseph Ramallo, spokesman for the LADWP. “It’s an informal opportunity to engage with our customers.”
During the walk, there will also be a “brief speaking program on the dam and on the reservoir’s history and the water situation and the water future in L.A.,” Ramallo said.

The LADWP hopes to make the walk a monthly event, according to Ramallo.
The walk is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, at Lake Hollywood Reservoir. Anyone interested in attending should meet at the intersection of Lake Hollywood Drive and Montlake Drive.
The 3.4-mile walk should take around an hour to an hour and a half to complete. No pets are allowed, and everyone who participates is encouraged to wear sunscreen and comfortable shoes.
While reservations are recommended, they are not required, according to Ramallo. However, if you would like to reserve a spot in advance, visit the LADWP website online.
