Sex Assault Suspect In Paramount Studios Standoff Arrested

The suspect barricaded himself inside Paramount Studios for 90 minutes after being shot with a Taser, rubber bullets and beanbags.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A 90-minute police standoff at Paramount Studios ended with the arrest of a sexual assault suspect early Monday morning. Police used rubber bullets, beanbags, and taser before the suspect was eventually taken into custody around 12:15 a.m.

According to LAPD, Fullerton police tried to arrest the suspect around 10 p.m. Sunday after a long surveillance effort. After a Taser was unsuccessful, the department called for LAPD who fired rubber bullets and beanbags "which were also ineffective."

Police said the suspect then ran onto the Paramount lot and barricaded himself into a building shortly after 10:45 p.m. Officers initially tried to negotiate, but eventually broke into the building and arrested him.
