Louis Gossett Jr. And Others To Be Honored At Heroes Of Hollywood
TV personality and restauranteur Lisa Vanderpump will receive the Mary Pickford award.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — Louis Gossett Jr. can add yet another award to his extensive trophy case. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce plans to honor the legendary entertainer with the Distinguished Service Award at the upcoming Heroes of Hollywood Gala this Thursday.
Held virtually this year, the 1930's themed event will honor individuals, businesses and nonprofits showing exceptional leadership and service in Hollywood. Guests will be treated to Big Band swing music courtesy of Douglas "The Crooner" Roegiers during a virtual cocktail hour, followed by a program led by radio personality Ellen K.
The annual event also features a silent auction with prizes such as a Cabernet Sauvignon package, Dinner at Musso & Frank, and tickets to a Dr. Phil taping. Proceeds from Heroes of Hollywood will be passed out to local nonprofits through grants from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

TV personality and restauranteur Lisa Vanderpump will receive the Mary Pickford award, given to a celebrity making a difference in the entertainment industry and the Hollywood community. Vanderpump, who owns three L.A. restaurants with her husband, has led the annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles and recently established a canine charity called Vanderpump Dogs.
Assistance League of Los Angeles, Hollywood Food Coalition, the Salvation Army Hollywood, Project Angel Food, Taglyan Complex and Paramount Pictures Viacommunity Days will also be honored.

The event has raised over $900,000 since its inception, and awarded grants to over 150 Hollywood community non-profits.
