Man Gets Prison For Sexually Assaulting Elderly Hollywood Woman

A man who forced his way into an 80-year-old Hollywood woman's apartment and sexually assaulted her will spend 25 years to life in prison.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man who pleaded no contest to sexually assaulting an 80-year-old Hollywood woman in her apartment in 2016 was sentenced Thursday to 25 years to life in state prison.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Leslie A. Swain also ordered Marcus Datwione Peete, 35, to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Peete pleaded no contest to sexual penetration by a unknown object and admitted allegations that the crime was committed during the commission of a burglary and that he inflicted great bodily injury, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Peete forced himself inside the woman's apartment on June 18, 2016, after she answered her front door, then pushed her into a bedroom and began beating her, according to court testimony.

He punched the woman multiple times in the face and sexually assaulted her before fleeing, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Peete was arrested the next day by Los Angeles police near Crenshaw and Olympic boulevards, and has remained behind bars since then.
