Man Safely in Custody After Threatening to Jump from High-Rise [UPDATE]
The streets around the area were cordoned off while authorities were trying to talk the man down.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man was threatening to jump from a high-rise residential building in Hollywood but was talked down by authorities.
The incident started at around 1 p.m. at the 6500 block of Franklin Avenue where the man was threatening to jump from approximately the 12th floor, Los Angeles police Officer Jenny Houser said.
Los Angeles Police Department requested the Los Angeles Fire Department's help in setting up rescue cushions in case the man decided to jump, she said.

He was taken into police custody at around 3:45 p.m. and was evaluated by paramedics at the scene, said Branden Silverman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
