Man Who Brutally Beat Valet And 4 Others Wanted For Attempted Murder: Deputies

A man assaulted five people over the course of 20 minutes over the weekend, including a valet at Barney's Beanery, deputies said.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — Authorities are asking for the public's help identifying a man wanted for attempted murder following a string of five assaults in West Hollywood on Saturday, including the brutal beating of a valet at Barney's Beanery, according to deputies.

The man assaulted five men and one woman Saturday night between 10:15 and 10:35 p.m. and deputies believe there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward.

In one incident, the man approached a valet at Barney's Beanery and punched him in the face without provocation. The valet fell to the ground and lost consciousness after hitting his head on the pavement, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The suspect then kicked the valet about 10 times on his head and upper torso before fleeing eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard on foot, deputies said.

The longtime Barney's valet, Frankie Zarazua, remained at an intensive care unit as of Monday and his family is raising money to help his recovery.

Deputies did not provide additional information about the other assaults.

The suspect is described as a Black man who is about 5-foot-9 and has a short beard. He was shirtless at the time of the assaults and was wearing a white hat and gray pants. He is likely homeless, deputies said.
