Nicole Eggert Meets With LAPD Over Scott Baio Allegations

Nicole Eggert reportedly met with detectives to give details about the alleged abuse from Scott Baio, and she brought a witness.

HOLLYWOOD, CA -- After revealing days ago that Scott Baio sexually abused her during their time on the hit television show "Charles in Charge," Nicole Eggert filed a police report Tuesday with the Los Angeles Police Department. TMZ reported the actress, along with her attorney, met with detectives.

Appearing on "Megyn Kelly Today" last week, Eggert said Baio sexually abused her for years when she was between the ages of 14 to 16 and Baio was an adult. Eggert said she didn't speak out because she wasn't ready to tell her story, NBC reported.

TMZ reported Eggert spoke to the detectives for about two hours and even brought a witness.

"We've also learned actor Alexander Polinsky, who played Adam Powell on the show, accompanied Eggert and told detectives he witnessed some of the alleged abuse," TMZ wrote.

Attorney Lisa Bloom "also provided detectives with a list of witnesses who claim they observed inappropriate behavior by Baio toward Eggert."

In a statement to NBC, Baio denied the accusations, calling them "outrageous."

"Nicole Eggert, on national television today, acknowledged that she had no answer to the fact that her core claim of having underage sex was proven to be untrue in a 2013 radio interview, not just in her own words, but actually in her own voice," Baio told NBC.

"Charles in Charge" ran for five seasons, beginning in October 1985. The beloved family show told the story of Charles, a college student tasked with caring for a family's young children. Baio played Charles while Eggert played the eldest sibling, Jamie.
