Panels at the event will touch on immigrant rights, the importance of voting, and solidarity between marginalized communities.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — The Ford Theater will host a digital festival called "Solidarity for Sanctuary," a multidimensional celebration of the arts and their power to spark change. The event will take place on Saturday at 4 p.m. and be streamed via YouTube and Facebook.

Co-curated by Doris Muños and Diana Diaz, the event features Latinx artists and activists such as Las Cafeteras and La Doña. Singer Omar Apollo will perform an unreleased single alongside the Los Angeles Philharmonic, orchestrated by GRAMMY-nominated Nathalie Joachim with Anthony Parnther serving as conductor.

Conversations with relevant community leaders will touch on immigrant rights, the importance of voting, and efforts to promote solidarity between Black and Brown communities.

"Solidarity for Sanctuary" is just one of many virtual events hosted by the Ford Theater as the physical concert venue remains closed. On Tuesday, the tree-filled venue hosted "Sonic Solidarity" which featured performances from UMI, Ambar Lucid and Amindi. Moderated by Erika Ramirez, editor-in-chief of ILY Magazine, the event also featured a panel between Muñoz and veteran tour manager Geraldine Leibot about the state of L.A.'s Latinx sound and the need for solidarity across genres.

You can watch Saturday's "Solidarity for Sanctuary" event on The Ford's YouTube channel here.
