'Oprah For President' Sign Goes Up In Los Angeles

The sign was paid for by Los Angeles-based I Am Gay company, according to a report.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Some people are getting serious about Oprah Winfrey running for president. A week after an inspiring speech at the Golden Globes, a sign reading "Oprah for President" went up in Los Angeles.

CBS reported "the sign was seen at 1828 Oak Street off the 10 and 110 freeway interchange, where Los Angeles-based LGBT clothing line “I Am Gay” says it hopes to start an “Oprah For President” movement in the city."

Talks of Winfrey running for president came after the media mogul was presented with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement. During her acceptance speech, she reflected on the historical achievements and continuing struggles of black Americans and women, citing the examples of monumental figures that have inspired her, including of Rosa Parks and Sidney Poitier, the first black person to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
