Captain America: The First Avenger had its world premiere at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre on Tuesday night.

Actors Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell and Sebastian Stan were among the stars of the movie in attendance along with Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey Jr. and Zoe Saldana.

The premiere prompted the closure of all lanes on a portion of Hollywood Boulevard for the day.
