After 'Man With A Gun' Call, Police Shoot At Suspect In Hollywood: LAPD
Officers responded to a call regarding a "man with a gun" in Hollywood Thursday evening, police said.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — Police shot at a man armed with a gun in Hollywood Thursday evening, but the man was not struck by gunfire, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Officers responded to a radio call regarding a "man with a gun" on Cole Avenue near Santa Monica Boulevard at around 5:10 p.m. Police were checking the area for the suspect when they encountered him on Vine Street near Fountain Avenue when the shooting occurred, police said.
The suspect continued north of Vine Street for a short distance, laid on the sidewalk and was arrested, police said.

Police said "an object" the suspect possessed was next to him on the sidewalk. It's unclear if that object was the gun referenced in the original call.
The suspect was not struck by gunfire and no officers were injured, police said.
