Trash Fire In Alley Spreads To Hollywood Apartment Building

Several apartment units in the multi-story building were damaged.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A rubbish fire spread into an East Hollywood apartment building Monday afternoon, damaging several units, but no injuries were reported.

The fire was reported about 4:30 p.m. at a multi-story building in the 1200 block of North New Hampshire Avenue, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Three dozen firefighters responded and knocked down the blaze in 15 minutes, Prange said.

The rubbish fire in a back alley damaged some electrical wires and a transformer and the flames spread into several units of the apartment building, according to Prange.

The cause of the trash fire was under investigation.
