Water Conservation Tips and Community Resource Fair

Weather: Expect partly sunny skies with a high near 63 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There will be a 20 percent chance of showers before 11 a.m. Tonight, partly cloudy with a low around 48 degrees. Sunrise: 6:50 a.m. Sunset: 7:09 p.m.

Lowest gas prices: According to LosAngelesGasPrices.com, the lowest price per gallon of regular gas in Hollywood is $3.95 at the Arco gas station at 6100 Franklin Ave. and Gower Street. The next lowest price is $3.97 at the 76 gas station at 1300 N. Western and Fountain Ave.

Water conservation tip: The Hollywood Beautification Team and the city of Los Angeles are partnering to host free training sessions for residents Saturday about the benefit of using rain barrels. The barrels help conserve water by collecting runoff from gutters that can be used for landscaping. Classes begin every 30 minutes between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at Hollywood City Hall, 6501 Fountain Ave. Those who participate will receive a free rain barrel.

Community resources: The Yucca Recreation Center is hosting a Community Resource Fair, an event open to seniors, adults and children on Saturday  from 1-4 p.m. There will be arts and crafts, a moon bounce, music, class demonstrations and refreshments.
