Woman Shot In Broad Daylight While Renting A Scooter In Hollywood: Police

A man suspected of shooting a woman in broad daylight on a Hollywood street last month remains at large, police said.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Police on Thursday asked for the public's help identifying a man wanted for shooting a woman in broad daylight in Hollywood last month.

The shooting occurred at around 12:15 p.m. Oct. 15 at Hollywood Boulevard and Western Avenue. The victim was in the process of renting a scooter when the suspect approached her and started an argument, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The suspect then fired multiple shots at her with a semi-automatic handgun before fleeing south on Western Avenue, police said.

Officers were called to the scene and located the woman. She was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.

A passerby who witnessed the shooting captured photos of the suspect as he was fleeing, police said.

The suspect is described as a 20-to-25-year-old man with black hair and brown eyes who is between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8, weighing between 130 and 160 pounds.
