Updated: 6-Year-Old Drowning Victim Identified

Emily Fu of La Cañada was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Update: The girl who drowned in the pool of a La Cañada home Monday has been identified as Emily Fu, Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said Tuesday. 

Fu lived at the home where the drowning occurred, Winter said. She was found in a backyard pool during a party. Investigators initially misidentified her as "Emily Su,'' he said.

Paramedics were called to the residence in the 4900 block of Indianola Way at 7:20 p.m. Monday, Deputy Mark Pope of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau told City News Service.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
