Crime Blotter: Drug Arrests and Vehicle Burglaries

The following information was supplied by the Crescenta Valley Sheriff Station. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Marijuana, Mushroom and Paraphernalia Possession

Deputies arrested Wayne Arnold Jackson, 59, of Upland on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia. Deputies stopped Jackson driving south on Briggs Avenue on Tuesday for an inoperable break light and cracked windshield, a police report states. Jackson allegedly told police he was on parole for narcotics, so deputies searched his car. They allegedly found three methamphetamine pipes.

Deputies arrested Michael Elliot Wooten, 22, of Camarillo, Tuesday on suspicion of possessing psilocybin (mushrooms) at 2:30 p.m. A deputy spotted Wooten driving eastbound n Foothill Boulevard without wearing a seatbelt, according to a police report. When officers ran his driver’s license, they allegedly found that it was suspended and that he was wanted for a misdemeanor. Authorities arrested Wooten after allegedly finding a Ziploc bag containing drugs on the vehicle’s rear seat.

Smashed Windows, Vehicular Burglaries

A La Cañada resident reported to police that an unidentified person stole a GPS device from his 2000 Honda Accord car, parked in the 4700 block of Alminar Avenue between 7:30 p.m. Monday and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The car had been locked, but the GPS was on the left side of the dash board. The window’s value was estimated at $500, and the GPS $200.

An unidentified suspect on Tuesday cut the soft top of a 2004 Toyota costing some $800 to repair, between 9-9:45 a.m. in the 4400 block of Cornishon Avenue, a resident told police. The person stole an eye glass case and silver belt worth $60 – but dropped both items by the car’s tire.

A 23-year-old resident in the 4300 block of Oakwood Drive reported to police on May 21 that someone opened his unlocked car and stole a $2,300 Macbook Pro computer and his $500 cell phone. His phone is equipped with a GPS system to track its whereabouts, according to the report.

A resident reported that someone shattered his driver side front window, costing $200, and stole a $400 apple iPod from his parked car between 5:30 p.m. May 19 and 9:20 a.m. May 20. The car’s bumpers were damaged by the unidentified suspect.  It was parked in the 5100 block of Ocean View Boulevard.

School Vandalism

Between Monday and Tuesday someone threw a rock at an east facing window of and broke the glass, according to a police report. The window measured 3 feet high by 18 inches wide.
