District Recognizes LCHS Equestrian Champ
No horsing around, this high school freshman has earned heaps of equestrian awards.
You might say with a last name synonymous with victory, student Olivia Champ has a lot to live up to.
But to this freshman, equestrian achievment is just good horse sense.
Superintendent Wendy Sinnette recognized Champ's multiple awards at the governing board meeting on Tuesday. Sinnette and Board President Scott Tracy commended the teen for achieving so many honors, at such a young age.

Champ, along with LCHS equestrian team memebers Haley Harrison, Sachi Kawbata and Victoria Hennon recently captured the Overall Varsity High Point Team Award out of 70 schools including Polytechnic, Malrborough and Harvard-Westlake.

• Overall High Point Rider for varsity of all riders in the league.
• Nationally she qualified for the 2012 Pessoa/USEF Hunt Seat Medal Finals to be held in Harrisburg, PA in October.
• Qualified for the Regional Finals for the 2012 ASPCA Maclay Finals to be held at the National Horseshow in Lexington, KY in November.
• Qualified for the 2012 Platinum Performance USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals, West, to be held at the LA Equestrian Center in September.
