LCF Students: Any Filmmakers Out There?
If you're a student living in Los Angeles County who digs making movies, the Los Angeles Student Media Festival may be the perfect thing for you!

Like last year, the Los Angeles Student Media Festival is looking for submissions - but this time any student in the county - not just the city - may enter.
Public and private school students throughout the region are expected to showcase their talents in creating dramatic narratives, comedies, animation and documentaries, not to exceed seven minutes, according to the city's festival website. A list of guidelines can be found here.
The festival, hosted by Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Krikorian, will be held March 10 at the El Portal Theater in the NoHo Arts District in North Hollywood. Submissions are due Jan. 20.

According to the festival website, judges are looking for imagination and creative storytelling, more so than production value.
A final and complete list of LASMF finalists will be announced on Feb. 8, 2012 on lasmf.lacity.org.
