Man Robbed at Gunpoint in La Cañada

An 19-year-old man lost his cell phone and tennis racket to two robbers who threatened him with a firearm.

s deputies are looking for two men who allegedly robbed a La Cañada Flintridge man at gunpoint on Tuesday, authorities said.

The 19-year-old man was walking on Castle Road, north of Foothill Boulevard just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, when two unidentified men approached him, said Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Sgt. Ray Harley.

The suspects got away with the victim’s tennis racket and cell phone, he said.

The victim and both suspects were on foot. While one suspect pointed a handgun at his head, the second suspect grabbed a tennis racket from his grasp and removed a cell phone from his pocket, Harley wrote in an email.

The suspects then ran to a nearby dark-colored, compact car and fled westbound on Foothill Boulevard. The victim was not injured during the robbery, according to Harley.

The first suspect was described as wearing a black shirt.  He was approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed about 180 to 190 pounds. The barrel of his handgun had a red colored tip and may have been a replica or toy gun, Harley said.

The only description of the second suspect is that he's approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and 140 pounds.
