Learn of the Dark History of CV's Secret WWII Detention Camp

The camp, which was located where the Verdugo Hills Golf Course now stands, has been a hot topic lately.

The Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley's Oct. 21 meeting will focus on the Tuna Canyon Detention Center, according to a recent post on Montrose-La Crescenta Patch

Sunland-Tujunga historian Lloyd Hitt "will show newly found photos of the camp during wartime, and talk about the site's past, its present, and its controversial future as a historic landmark," according to the board post. 

The camp, which was located where the Verdugo Hills Golf Course now stands, has been a hot topic lately as the area was recently named a historic-cultural monument by the city of Los Angeles.
