Nail Repair: Construction Workers Replace Truck-Smashed Window

A car accident Aug. 5 sent a pickup truck careening into the nail shop - the second time in two years a vehicle rammed into the Foothill Boulevard strip of stores.

Construction workers put the finishing touches on storefront, some two weeks after a through its front window. A sign in the front window lets clients know the business is closed through Aug. 29.

On Aug. 5 a car cut off a pickup driving westbound on Foothill Boulevard, causing the truck to hit the curb, a tree in the center divider and eventually cross into eastbound lanes and slam into the nail salon, said Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station Sgt. Burton Brink.

No serious injuries were reported. Sgt. Mark Slater recently told Patch he was still waiting for the completed report, but any charge stemming from the accident would be an infraction.

It's the second time the nail salon narrowly avoided catastrophe. In 2009, plowed into the former , adjacent to the salon. Melody Nails’ landlord, Leonard Totta, told the La Cañada Valley Sun, "We've gotten lucky twice.''
