Updated: Sheriff's Deputies Arrest Burglary Suspect

Man allegedly broke into his grandparents' La Cañada home.

Updated: 4:30 p.m.: The arrested suspect's name is Ryan Slaughter, 23, of La Cañada. He was accused of breaking into his grandparents' home in the 5500 block of Stardust Road. He was booked at the Temple City Station because Crescenta Valley is remodeling its jail, Tuinstra said.

Updated 3:58 p.m.: Sgt. Tuinstra told Patch that deputies arrested a man in his 20s, first thought to be a teen-ager, for allegedly breaking into his grandparents' home in La Cañada Flintridge. He has been booked on suspicion of burglary at the Los Angeles Sheriff Department's Temple City station.

Tuinstra said the suspect returned to the residence Wednesday afternoon, and the man's grandparents called police.

Earlier:  Deputies are searching for a teen-ager suspected of burglary, police said. 

It is unclear what, if anything, was stolen, but the suspect allegedly entered his family's home through a window Wednesday morning, after they kicked him out, said Sgt. Tracy Stewart.

"Right now he's wanted for burglary-related activity,'' Stewart said, noting she did not have a name or description of the suspect, or any information about the location of the residence.
